I travelled from Scotland for the scan and the staff could not have been more professional, patient and compassionate throughout what was a very difficult day physically. The radiographers treated me with dignity, took their time, and did everything possible to help me complete the imaging despite significant discomfort. The quality of the imaging and reporting was also excellent. The report identified important findings and provided a level of detail that has been extremely valuable for my ongoing medical investigations. My only criticism is that I have been trying to obtain my DICOM image files for a couple of weeks since the scan on 26 May and have sent several emails without receiving a response. As these files are important for specialist reviews and second opinions, the lack of communication has been disappointing. However, I believe reviews should be fair and reflect the overall experience. The imaging service itself, the professionalism of the staff, and the quality of the reporting were all first class, which is why I am still giving Tesla Radiology a well-deserved five stars. Really disappointed with the service I received. I booked an appointment online and was later called to be told they had double-booked the slot. I was offered a later appointment, which I understood, but when I explained that I had already arranged childcare from Edinburgh and needed an earlier time that day, the person on the phone, Babu Wargeez, became very rude and dismissive. I explained the difficulty of rearranging childcare at short notice, but was told, “These are the options and that’s all I can do.” When I pointed out that I had organised childcare specifically for the appointment, I was told that I “shouldn’t organise it until we have confirmed.” That response was unreasonable — if patients wait until the last minute to arrange childcare, they could equally be criticised for not being prepared. The caller said he was the manager and was calling from a mobile number. After a few minutes, I called back and agreed to make the later appointment work by arranging a taxi and arriving for 11am. At that point, I was then told they “don’t accept everyone,” that they could reject patients, and that because of my medical history they “couldn’t scan” me. This was extremely upsetting and confusing. Surely medical scans exist to investigate health concerns and medical history should be assessed professionally and sensitively, not used as a reason to speak to patients in this manner. After I said this he went onto explain what an MRI scan is to which I replied I am a dentist and my fiancé is a consultant and the response was “I don’t care who you are”. Yes exactly, you don’t seem to care very much. The conversation ended with him saying, “I’m with a patient, I can’t talk now, I’ll speak tomorrow,” and the call was abruptly ended. Overall, I am shocked by both the lack of professionalism and the poor communication throughout this experience. I am wanting to share my experience as no patient should be treated this way in my opinion. Also I am not sure why I was called by a private mobile number as I didn’t consent to my phone number being used by a personal phone. I will upload the number in due course once I receive a response.
